Busy Bees

It would seem that recreational sewing has been put on the back burner for us the past month or so. Between pregnancies, delivering babies, funerals, kid stuff, work, girl's camp etc. etc. etc. not much sewing has been done (other than for swaps and girl's camp). Hopefully we'll be able to get into our groove again soon! We'll announce when our next apron night will as soon as we know.

So Darling

Thanks Maren, for the little nudge to finally post...I've been super busy this week getting ready for my parents to come, Heath's graduation, Mother's Day...etc. Anyways, Jill made this adorable apron!!!! Sorry, it took me so long to post your hard work! I love how the ric rac fades from light to bright pink! So creative, miss Jill. I love it! I'll wear it around the house just to feel cute when I feel like a dead mommy! I love the buttons on the side too. nice touch. Thanks Jill for all your hard work and attention to detail. She used the same color of thread for each color of ric rac. It's looks so professional! Way to go.

And behold, I bring an apron that fits my mood of life!

I received my apron from the swap! I ran to the mail box this morning, thinking, and hoping it was there! And look what lay waiting for me! This fabulous apron made by Stacey.

I love it. Right now everything is about polka dots, they bring so much happiness to me. How did she know?

I am a quite a playful person, and this apron fits everything about me. RED AND PINK! What could be better than that? I love the waist band, and the flounce on the bottom, so cute.

Stacey, thank you so much for such a great apron. I absolutely love it. Thank you for the time you put into it, and thank you for sending it all the way to Utah. You are much appreciated.

Ladies, this swap has been such a great experience. Thank you for including the Utah chapter.
You will see many a more posts from these ladies in the next months to come.

Cheers! And God bless.

(I would have worn the apron, but my husband is out of town, and Aiden hasn't mastered the art of taking a picture yet. I will post one later. :)

awesome pleated ruffle

I love pleated Ruffles - they just add an extra something to project. And there are so many lovely talented ladies that make truly fabulous tutorials on how to do them. They make something that looks so hard - and make it understandable. Check out this TUTORIAL HERE.

another happy swapper

How talented is this girl, I am swooning!

It's perfect!! I love it! And I love the earrings too! It's so funny that I was looking at earrings just like this the other day - you must have espn!!! (yeah, I know it's esp, but it sounds funnier that way...lol) - Deanna

details of the back - so fun & festive...

This was Deanna's apron made by Maren. It's a Carol Taylor Oates 3 tier apron made with cherry fabric and ric rac between the tiers.

Why stop at just ric-rac?

I was the lucky recipient of this! Can you say JACKPOT! Maren's mom, Molly, decided to show off not only her sewing skills, but her needlework as well. And, I got matching potholders. When the UPS guy showed up on my doorstep, I pretty much grabbed the box out of his hands and ripped it open. I knew it would be great, but this is awesome! It was also kind of fun to look at the interfacing on the back side, the step I usually skip when making aprons. I thought to myself, "so this is how is supposed to be done." I'm taking notes from a master apronista!
It reminds me of some of the aprons my grandma's wore when I was little. The embroidery just makes it all the more vintage and the daisies are so cute! I can't wait to bake while sporting this apron. This apron is priceless!

Thank you, Molly!

my awesome apron swap

This was made by Christie for me. I love it. Infact, I almost bought this material at Joann's. She really did a great job - I especially like the details she added to it. Check out the double-sided pocket. I also love the ribbon & ric rac across the bottom.

Closeups of the cute details ala Christie. Great Work!

Another Apron Swap Success Story!

I got my apron from Aubrey yesterday in the mail, and I was so excited! And that excitement only increased when I saw ric rac, pink polka dots and a cute halter top pattern all at once!!! Aubrey you did a phenomenal job and I absolutely love this apron!!! Thank you for putting the time and effort into it, I love it! And actually I bought this apron patter the other week when the patterns were only one cent and now I really want to do it because it is so darn cute!

the first of the apron swappers revealed

This is the wonderful apron I received from the apron exchange. This was really fun Maren. I'm so glad that I said "Yes". This is a style I have seen a lot in the pictures on the apronista site. I was wondering where I could get my hands on it. That's so coincidental that she chose this pattern for me. The fabric she chose makes it look more retro. I absolutely love it. Lets do this again. I don't want people to think that I am that critical of others sewing projects. We all have different levels of sewing simply due to experience only. You get better by practice. I was forced into sewing because that was the only way I had to have more clothes growing up. So I chose to sew. You should have seen my first projects. Sometimes I got very frustrated because I chose a pattern beyond my sewing abilities, but because I chose to keep trying I got better at it. I love to sew and I'm so grateful that I never gave up. It helped that I had 10 kids to sew for. I loved doing it for you all. Thanks so much for inviting me to join in the exchange. Lets do it again. LOVE YOU MOM
