It's that time of year again! National Tie One One Day is coming up on November 25th. Last year I was the blessed recipient of an apron on Tie One On Day and I was very touched...and surprised! I'm excited to participate this year. Here is a little blurb from straight from EllynAnne, the apronista of all apronistas:
National Tie One On Day™ is an annual opportunity for those of us with extra to share our good fortune with someone in need of a kind gesture. I am writing to ask for your help in spreading the word on National Tie One On Day™ through your social media networks, website and regular ol' chit chat.
Participation in NTOOD is very simple: Wrap a loaf of bread or other bake offering in an apron, tuck a note of encouragement in the pocket; then "tie one on" (an apron, of course!) and deliver the bundle to someone in need of encouragement, spiritual or physical sustenance or just a bit of recognition.
National Tie One On Day is such a win-win, for participants and receivers. On my website www.apronmemories.com (Tie One On Day) is an abundance of further information, including press releases, the sponsors' profiles, photography of Wrap. Write. Deliver, personal commentary, and comments by those already engaged by National Tie One On Day.
A giveaway of six over-flowing goodie bags takes place November 25th. Entry is easy – on the homepage of my site.

I bought this fabric over a year ago. I didn't even know what I was going to make but I loved it so much I got it. Ironically, you can still find it at Joanns today. Instead of going back and buying more, I decided to make something with how much I got. The border is courtesy of one of you ssc girls from that basket of fabrics! The pattern is the Easy Retro Apron. But, I did the whole thing and hated the huge ruffle at the bottom, so I cut it off and made a short one, which i LOVE. This apron just makes me happy!! Suprisingly, I've never gathered before, so I learned how to do that but besides that the apron was cake!

Arizona neighbors! You will seriously miss out if you don't make your way to downtown Mesa, AZ this weekend for Blissfest 2009, presented by my ever-fabulous friends at Domestic Bliss, Kristin & Dan Alber. Stephanie Nielson and her husband, Christian, will be there. Tara Frey will be doing a book signing with her new book, Blogging for Bliss. Jaimee Rose is coming too. There will be music, dancing, dozens of artists' booths, a stagecoach -- I mean, come on, a stagecoach!
I'll be at the Blogging Lounge on Saturday afternoon and the HB crew will be there too, with our own version of a general store: Trash Ties, fabric, felt, patterns, kits, chit chat, perhaps some chocolate to snack on. So, AZ folks, put your cotton-pickin' boots on and mosey on down to Friday night's 'Grand Fandango' and Saturday's Blissfest Market. Details on the flyer above or visit the Blissfest blog.
Happy Fall. I don't know about your neck of the woods, but, here, the weather is gorgeous. Finally.
See you there!
(Felt supply all fat & re-stocked by the way -- if you've been waiting.)

Just a quick thought. This week I feel like I finally feel like I am sewing for me. So many times I've felt the weight of trying to compete with so many amazing seamstresses out there. Yes, including you ssc girls. But, I feell like I'm in my groove now...finding projects that I really enjoy. making time to sew when I want. inspiring other girls to get into it. But, I think most of all is that I've realized that we all sew at our own pace, and that's okay.
