Hi. My name is Jill Manning and I am addicted to all things Oliver + S. Seriously, it is becoming an issue but when all their clothes turn out this adorable, it is so hard to resist.
I discovered them through my new blog crush, The Night Knitter. I want to hang out with the Night Knitter so that hopefully her adorable style will rub off on me. She has made all of her daughter's school clothes (she has a uniform code of some sort) using, for the most part, Oliver + S patterns. I can't believe I am jealous of this little girls wardrobe. I am quickly becoming jealous of Elsie's since I have started using Oliver + S. It is very Anthropology meets The Gap. I know, swoon!!!
One of the things I love about these patterns is that all the clothes are finished so beautifully. It takes a little bit of extra work to figure out the instructions (which are so perfectly written and illustrated) but it is so worth it considered how clean and professional everything looks in the end. The only exposed seams of an entire outfit are the side seams and shoulder seams, everything else is encased and not necessarily with bias tape or french seams. I am just so impressed with these patterns.
I have my eye's set on their Music Class Blouse and Skirt pattern:

I know we are a sewing blog and we focus on all things sewing - but a lot of us are also moms and I can't sleep tonight with out climbing up on a soap box and posting this clip.
As I watched this clip - I was disgusted but also feeling super guilty. What do I have in my freezer right now? I know what I ate today, I'm embarrassed to admit it: no breakfast, mini chocolates candy bars, pizza, coke zero, freezer lasagna, frozen corn, diet coke, popcorn, chocolate kisses, starbursts. What does that say about me? What am I teaching my children?
I am GUILTY as charged.
I want to make a difference. I want to change for my health, for my kids, and just to feel better. I feel like crap. I'm tired all the time? Why? I don't have to look any farther then today. I dare you to watch this show and not be affected by it. It's amazing... and Jamie's Revolution is a success if it has such a powerful impact on me. Let's start a REVOLUTION!!

I'm just going to brag on my little sister for a minute. Nicki and her long-time friend, Erin, just opened up their Royalty Bowtique. They sell superhero capes, tutus, hair bows, and bracelets. It's all so cute and at great prices! Perfect for your little princess or prince. (I'm a huge fan of the capes--and there are lots of designs to choose from. You can even request your own personal design.) Check out Nicki on Etsy as well.
They are having a giveaway to celebrate the opening of their shop. Go here to enter.
